I prefer trackpads as well. That company-supplied laptop I had when I visited you had one of those horrible nipple things. After half an hour or so of using it, my hand would start to hurt. I'm glad the company was cheap enough to lease that machine rather than buy it, so I was able to give it back when I got home.
The new two-finger-scroll trackpads are incredible. Pity the laptop budget is currently a food budget :)
