That just means that it's selling well and vendors are having difficulty keeping them in stock. Sales personnel at the local dealer, although they sell Nikon and Canon far more than any other brands, tells me that the shop has had no problems selling *ist DS/DL/ DS2 bodies and Pentax lenses. There are no longer *any* used Pentax lenses of any note in stock.

To me, that sound like Pentax is doing well. We all know they don't have the kind of production capability that Nikon or Canon do, so some unevenness in availability of units is to be expected. Even Canon and Nikon buyers occasionally can't get a particular thing they want instantly.
