B&H has a "notify when in stock" marker on the *istDS2. That means they will get some more in stock. You might want to click that button. I think that its fairly obvious that existing stocks of this camera have sold out. That's probably a good thing. They do have the *istD in stock, but it's still pricey. This is very disappointing, although, just because Pentax has chosen to
make an early announcement for three P&S cameras doesn't preclude them from announcing a new DSLR at a later date or at the PMA show. However, like others on this list, I am becoming frustrated with Pentax. I'm now ready to purchase an istDS2 and none of the trusted sites that I'm comfortable
buying from, nor Pentax USA, has the camera in stock. There are places
that claim to have the camera, but their reseller ratings are poor, and I
won't tempt fate by buying through what are reported to be sleazy
operators. If someone has a place they trust that may have the DS2 in
stock, I'd be happy to hear about it.

However, if there is nothing coming soon to replace the DS2, and if in fact the DS2 is discontinued, then I will give serious consideration to moving
away from Pentax. I ~never~ thought I'd say those words, but it's now
something that I am considering, or at least thinking about. I feel let down by the comapny I've supported and boosted since before 1967. And I certainly never thought I'd make that statement publically, on this forum.
