You probably can add the 70-200/F2.8 to the list of lenses that Sigma produces which are worthy of putting on your Pentax. I also have the discontinued APO 300/F4 and it is a very good performer. The 100-300/F4 is suppose to be just as good but I have never tried one.
A good substitute for the digital kit lens is the Sigma 18-125. It compares very favorably to the Tamron SP 24-135 which gets very favorable reviews. In fact I think I am going to sell my SP 24-135 since I do not see a situation where I would use it over the Sigma 18-125.
