I had the manual focus version of that Sigma 18-35. Probably the worst "feeling" lens I've ever owned: It was back at Sigma's low point when, so I'm told, some of their lenses were actually built with cardboard for some internal bits. But it never gave many trouble and was pretty damn good when stopped down a bit. I sold a *lot* of images made with that lens.
