But if I wander into a camera shop and ask to buy a
shutter speed tester, are they going to laugh at me,
or tell me I don't have the money for that? I may have
to see if I can build one myself, if all else fails. 

As to checking the meter - I'm all film, so if it
wasn't for statistics class, I'd not know what a
histogram was. :)
