We recently had a very unusual case here in the UK of the violent rape
of a 3 yr old. It made me re-examine my tolerance, and after much
thought, I decided that short of the death penalty (which we mercifully
do not have here) I would support castration as a punishment option.

I'm not tolerant of rapists, regardless of victim age. Or of violence for that matter.

But I've seen one or two cases in the Netherlands where a single remark of a kid was picked up by concerned parents, some social workers, the police and developed into a huge scandal which closed down a school. After the hysteria settled it became clear that nothing had actually happened to any of the kids. I'd hate it if someone had been castrated in the proces. Like death, it's quite irrevesible.

And apart from the risk of justice going terribly awry, it'll certainly drive the last men out of the education system. There too few of them left as is...
