The 18-55 DA is shockingly good for the cost (I'd say it equals the
Nikkor 18-70 DX or the EF 17-85 IS USM for optical quality) and the
18-35 FA J isn't bad either (Note, while full-frame, the FA J lacks an
aperture ring).

As for a zoom in the 20-35mm range. While I do not have the FA 20-35
it is suppose to be a very good lens. The DA 16-45 is also an
excellent lens but it is designed for APS-C digital only. I
understand that it covers the full 35mm frame only down to about 24mm.
Do you want the zoom for digital only of for both film and digital?
I have the DA 16-45 and like most who have to really like it.
