On 28/12/05, Don Williams, discombobulated, unleashed: >Does anyone know the exact distance >between the front surface of the *ist D >mount and the sensor?
African or European ? ;-) > >Note for Cotty: Its warming up here -- >only -12C. I read (on the BBC ticker) >this morning that it's very cold in the >UK a dreadful Siberian -2C! And they >expect *6 inches* of snow! My goodness. >I love to swap our hectares for some in >Somerset. >Maybe on the Bristol Channel near Minehead. Well, jumping Jupiter, it's brass monkeys outside. Actually we've had just a few flakes here in Oxfordshire, though i suspect they've had an inch or two up in the hills just north west of here (Cotswolds), and the eastern half is suffering - Mike W will have his long Johns on I fear. The thing is, we don;t have a climate in the UK, just weather. As a depression or anti-cyclone passes through, it either pulls in cold northerlies, icy easterlies, mild westerlies, or balmy southerlies. Hence, we have Siberian snow at the moment, but come Friday, a low pressure system will push in from the west bringing rain, preceded by heavy snow on the leading edge as cold air is met. The mild air will win though, and the snow will be all gone by Sunday night, taking us back to highs of between 5 and 10 deg c during the day. And just looking further ahead... <unrolls Atlantic chart> ;-) Cheers, Cotty ___/\__ || (O) | People, Places, Pastiche ||=====| http://www.cottysnaps.com _____________________________
