In addition it's quite a bit rarer than the 55 1.8. I suppose that to
someone in the know that might enhance it's value.

I've the K55/1.8 which is the same optical formula as the 2.0, and which I
dearly love. It's not as sharp as some later 50mm lenses, and the contrast
isn't as great, but it can render some beautiful images and preserves
