I am still trying to choose between a D FA and a used FA.
I wish I could try them side by side.
I bought the F variant used a few months ago, and like everyone here
said I would, I really love it... I see the advantage of small and light
lenses, of course, but one of the reasons why I like this one, is in
fact that it's not one of those. This gives me more of a feeling of
using a "real" lens, if you know what I mean, and I also sometimes find
it easier to hold the camera properly when it's not too light. And I've
already managed to drop this lens onto a rather hard surface. No damage
done ;-) I think I would find the focus clamp useful, though, so the FA
would probably be even better...
I've used this lens a lot for non-macro work, too, by the way. I'm
thinking that 100mm is perhaps the ideal focal length for me for
"street" work etc.
