It wouldn't be that hard to have more increments on the scale, but it still wouldn't be any more accurate. Designing an ACCURATE battery gauge truly is hard to do, especially if the product will accept such a wide variety of batteries as the *istDS. In fact, I've never seen a product with an accurate battery gauge in my entire life. Maybe NASA or the military have some devices with accurate battery gauges, but I've yet to see that sort of thing in a retail product.
