Hi Markus ... Way back in the old days, when the SMCT 85/1.8 first arrived on the scene. every photog I then knew, regardless of what they were shooting, and everyone in the camera shops here, were buzzing with enthusiasm for that lens. It was, if I may use the term, an instant legend. I couldn't afford one then, but there were ample opportunities to use a sample or two (it paid to have friends at the camera shops), and I just loved it. It's still a very desirable optic, even though in some ways time has passed it by with fancier features. But the pics it takes should be just as good as ever. I loved mine, especially when used on a nicely brassed, black Spotmatic F.
Fast forward to the present: I still love the Pentax 85mm lenses. Just yesterday I did an informal test comparing the 77mm Ltd to the K85/1.8. I had to look long and hard to find any appreciable difference between them under the circumstances of the comparison. I'm sure you'll enjoy your lens. You'll have not only a great lens, but a small piece of Pentax history and legend. Shel
