As I've said before, ultimate archival quality isn't necessarily my
topmost priority. B&W rendering to print is.
The more I read and study on the two printers ...
- The HP does an excellent job, right out of the box, with B&W glossies.
- I don't like HP's matte paper very much, but alternatives work well.
- Seem the 8750 profiles aren't great, but custom profiles are
available.
- The Epson does an excellent job, right out of the box, with Color
and B&W matte prints.
- Neither are exceptional on glossy paper.
- There are excellent profiles for the Epson, direct from Epson.
- There are many good profiles for other than Epson paper available.
Probably the two biggest factors that will cause a decision are
1) Epson ink and paper are very easily available in this area, where
HP ink and paper seem to be more difficult to find.
2) HP seems excellent on glossy, Epson seems excellent on matte.
So which surface I decide has priority, coupled with ink & paper
availability, is likely to determine the printer I'll buy.
News at 11... ;-)
