Bill, I have something similar - X's-DriveII VP2060 - 40GB version. Cost around $225. No problems so far. Mark C has a similar, early version that he's had battery proplems with.

I had the previous version which was bad, bad, bad. Buttons were soft, ergo, hard to push down. On and off button was the same. I couldn't always be sure I
had it off. And it went belly up after a few uses. Menus on the LCD screen
were lousy.

This may be okay because it's a newer version, but I later got mine replaced
later with this that I like lots better:
