I hate to even add another post to the flame-war, but I would like to make a few points.

Lets examine this post - you are stating that I
am correct and logical in this premise but that's just a religion of
mine I am asking people to follow "vainly" and PENTAX is illogical
so **I am insane*** because I don't expect illogical
behavior from PENTAX? I think you need medical
help if you are serious. And I am dead serious.

- Most people who read and fully understand your comments agree with you that it probably doesn't cost much more to include the coupling and the lack of it represents a shift of support policy. That is somewhat disturbing.

- Most people who have not read and/or rully understood your comments OR have expressed the opinion that the currect situation is good enough seem to have elicited individual and somewhat caustic clarifications of your position. The inclusion of arguably excessive SHOUTING contributes to the hostile interpretation, whether it be for emphasis or not.

- I would venture to say that your argument assumes that the decisions were rational and based on some underlying reasoning. Perhaps they are, but they certainly are not based on engineering and feature-enhancing reasoning. Once marketing gets ahold of the system, the engineers have lost.
