I'm curious as to what you're observing, however. How do they look "digital"? What characteristics are you responding to?

It occurs to me now that it has to do with the differences in film and
digital response curves... Digital is very rigid, probably quite
linear and very different from film. It is not bad or good, just
different.

My own feelings are that digital is at least as flexible as film with regard to exposure and rendering. It is, however, a different medium with different requirements in exposure and a wholly different processing/rendering methodology.
