Yes. When I was first using the Digital Rebel, I was a bit upset that most 
things looked slightly underexposed. However, it makes it possible to get the 
highlights, etc. right in RAW conversion. Whereas an overexposure wouldn't. So 
most digitals default that way.

You'll get used to it Shel. After you run your first batch through RAW 
conversion. Then, POW, the pictures can look great.
