Ditto. Well, I haven't rescued a shot, but the idea of turning of the 
brightness never occurred to me. Duh. I will have to try it sometime on a dark 
shot.

Which leads me to a question, Paul, is there any particular book on 
photoshopping (as a verb) that you like/recommend?

I am starting an Elements 3 class. Finally getting down to learning more of 
this stuff. After that I will tackle Photoshop. But probably do that on my own.
