I've never had either of these lenses. I have the FA28-105/3.2-4.5 AL IF, though, and like it a lot. Cheap, light, very good quality. The FA24-90/3.5-4.5 AL is a little better performing, particularly at the long end, wide open, based on some examples I've seen, but about twice the price in the US. Unfortunately, the 28-105 seems to be somewhat scarce right now.
