To be fair, a lot of standard lenses have similar problems on film-based cameras - light fall off, softness at certain apertures, softness in corners, and just being plain crap. That begs the question: is it the lens or the lens when used in combination with a FF sensor? Even Pentax (GASP!) has produced some lenses that are dogs.
