Head on down to the Ferry Building. Lots of activity there - old trolly's can be found turning around on the Embarcadero, the Villaincourt Fountain may offer some interesting shots, there's a park and an area across from the building in which there's some interesting sculpture and art work, lots of people watching, and the area is filled with art work. The Ferry building itself has lots of good photo ops since it's been converted to what is essentially a huge indoor farmer's market.
