We would call that a 3-pound sledge. The correct name is engineer's hammer. 
What Rob sent me a photo of was a drill hammer (miners had a slang name for 
them but I can't seem to recall it). The drill hammer has a softer head for 
hitting steel drills with. I guess you guys may use the term interchangablely 
for either type.
