It depends on what kind of DSLR you want to get and how long you're willing to wait. I'd bet my bottom dollar that the next Pentax DSLR, and probably the next 2 or three, will be down market from the ist-D and DS. It's just a simple fact of economics that that's where the money is. The D-70 saved Nikon's arse and they're moving relentlessly toward less expensive cameras. Pentax will be doing the same - count on it. I believe the next few Pentax DSLR's will have pentamirrors rather than pentaprisms, for example. Smaller, dimmer viewfinders like the Rebel and D-70. Less metal and more plastic in construction.
