If Pentax introduces a high end DSLR, I would guess that it will use both CF 
and SD cards. Canon did that with the Mark II series. It makes sense although 
it might be a problem if compact size is a major consideration. If they have to 
choose, it will be CF, which seems to be the standard for pro and prosumer 
DSLRs. The Sony thing is nothing more than a rumor. I hesitate to guess what 
might happen if they acquire Pentax. However given the relative success of the 
current Pentax DSLR cameras, I would think they'll merely want to expand the 
investment and improve the marketing. The name isn't worth much on its own. The 
success of the current products and the existing owner base is, on the other 
hand, of some value.
