it's not particularly IR sensitive, it has improved visible red sensitivity. 
i don't know what that means in terms of color accuracy in normal use.

The possible exception is that Canon is releasing a special version of the 
20D, designed for IR photography. To facilitate easier focusing and 
framing in pure IR, I believe they're using a fixed semi-silvered mirror 
and a sensor that includes continuous live capture mode. Of course, that 
camera is almost useless for visible light photography.
