"Because most purchasers of an entry-level anything would not necessarily then purchase a top-level peripheral tool. Would the purchaser of a compact car then buy a set of wheels nearly equalling the price of the car?"
I am sure she doesn't think of her new camera as entry level. She chose it because it's smaller and lighter than the other models. It's much more capable (and lighter) than the D60 it is replacing.
"Anyway, can she not use the supplied Canon software with the XT's RAW files? Did it come with Digital Photo Professional? or how about the Canon Image Browser?"
I'm sure the camera came with some software to read the raw format but she's been using Photoshop CS since it was issued. Now she has to learn and use another program that may not have the CS feature set.
Thanks for the replies Cotty.
