What he said. exactly. Someone actually said that about one of my shots a while back - forgot what it was - but it was a grab shot from the only place I could have been standing or sitting or whathaveyou. I'm not sure if it was even one I liked - I throw things up occasionally just to show you guys the thing for its own sake.

That sort of comment may, in some situations be unhelpful for the reasons given, but more often than not, it is a perfectly valid question, and for those times when the camera position was the best possible, it's pretty easy for the photographer to point it out as part of the discussion.
