Thanks for that.  If that is the case then just the case would put it
over our weight restrictions.  I didn't think it would be usable, but
atleast now I know.

I was in Brisbane (about a 2 and a half hour flight away) visiting my
family when 9/11 happened.  At the same time Australia's second largest
domestic airline folded - there were only 3 at the time.  We had
airline chaos for months, even with using the 747's that normally flew
to the US to fly between capital cities.
