I am just becoming acquainted with CS Raw. I was surprised to see that it offers me the option to set dpi at the conversion stage. It's default is 240, which won't do. What do the rest of you use? Can you set it up to the dpi resolution of the sensor? (I'm at my office and don't have CS2 in from of me.)
DPI (actually PPI) is irrelevant until it is time to print. I usually set my to the usual screen reference standard (72ppi), and then adjust it when it's time to print to achieve the dimensions I want, without resampling.
If you're going to be printing a number of images full frame at a particular size, set the default DPI to the value that achieves that sizing. For instance, if you set 300 ppi, that will default your images to print at 6.7x10 inches onto an 8.5x11 sheet of paper, full frame.
