When I travel I think about the situation I want to photograph, or am likely
to be in, and consider which lenses I will need. I take those lenses. If I
find myself in an unexpected situation then I have to deal with it with
whatever I have on me at the time.

There is no point in worrying about what I could have done if only I'd had
the 3,000mm ultra-soft macro Nocta for that one special situation. I make
the choice, and live with it.

In your case, if you plan to go somewhere like Kew or the Oxford Botanical
Gardens, then you're probably going to want a dedicated macro lens. I agree
with other people that you don't need both (or either) of the TCs. TCs are
not a good choice for zooms or wide-angles.
