When I travel I think about the situation I want to photograph, or am likely to be in, and consider which lenses I will need. I take those lenses. If I find myself in an unexpected situation then I have to deal with it with whatever I have on me at the time.
There is no point in worrying about what I could have done if only I'd had the 3,000mm ultra-soft macro Nocta for that one special situation. I make the choice, and live with it. In your case, if you plan to go somewhere like Kew or the Oxford Botanical Gardens, then you're probably going to want a dedicated macro lens. I agree with other people that you don't need both (or either) of the TCs. TCs are not a good choice for zooms or wide-angles. -- Cheers, Bob > -----Original Message----- > From: Amita Guha [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: 11 May 2005 02:06 > To: [email protected] > Subject: would you leave your favorite lens at home? > > Everyone, I'm trying to finalize my kit for London and I've > hit a snag. > Here's the kit I'm planning to take to London: > > *istD > Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 > Tam 1.4x and 2x TCs > Sigma 15mm fisheye > > I'm trying to figure out if I should take my Tam 90mm macro > with me.
