Joe, I had 2 older scanners, 1-HP and 1-Microtec(?) that
I spent hours trying to get working with XP.
Never had any luck at all.
Bought a $99.00 Epson USB scanner, installed, been using
it ever since.
ASPI is a way to get "old stuff" to talk to newer OS's,
sometimes works, sometimes not.
In my experience it's almost always "fussy".
Maybe it's time for a new scanner?
I'll bet the original Adaptec card was ISA too, does your
machine even have any ISA slots, or all PCI?
