The picture was shot as a jpeg, cropped, and slightly adjusted, in Irfanview (which is probably why Shel prefers that program to view it).
Being a tight-fisted Scot, I have been resisting buying PS CS (I have Elements 2), but I suppose I am just going to have to bite the bullet and do so if I am going to get the best out of my pictures. And also shoot RAW.

My only nit is that it appears to be oversaturated. The shadow areas have become very red and are too sharply defined from the rest of the image. I would go back to the RAW and do a new conversion with less saturation, less contrast and less shadow intensity. I might also minus the red a wee bit. If it was shot as a jpeg, you could work it in curves a bit while reducing the saturation. But I find the composition very nice. Overall, a striking image.
