You're right. The longest lens that's practical on a Leica rangefinder
is a 135. You can use longer lenses with a Visoflex housing, which
mimics an SLR, but it's an unwieldy beast of a thing. The Leica is
happiest with wide to normal lenses, 35x and 50s. I have a Summicron
Collapsible f2. It's a wonderful little lens with what I would describe
as 1950s color and contrast. Muted, in other words. Yet it's very
sharp. In BW that moderate contrast, moderate saturation look
translates to very nice mid grey rendition. Lots of fun.
