April 2005 Pop Photo Mag - DSLR Shoot-Out

I've got a Super Program and a ZX-L, and I'm on the verge of going digital.
So I was interested in this month's issue of PopPhoto.  
They say very nice things about the *ist-DS's resolution, color accuracy, 
and noise, yet the sample photo looks like crap!
What's up with that?  Anybody know?
