Word back from the repair shop is that it can't be repaired. Needs parts that are unavailable.
:-( So, I'm left with an LX that works in every way, except it won't trip a flash. Sadly, that's one of the things I liked best about the LX: the ttl flash metering. But wait! There's more! Negotiations are underway even as we speak, between myself and a list member, which negotiations, if successful, would place an LX in my hands. If those discussions come to fruition, I would then have a perfectly good LX, and I could use my current one as a flashless backup/parts body.
