Like Paul said: The Pentax-F 1.7 AF Adapter works extreemly well with the
*ist D.
It is worth the trouble, believe me.
At long distances you can't focus that accurate or fast yourself.

In fact the FA1.7 works extremely well with my 135/2.5 and 200/2.5 and I'm
delighted with it.  Who could have imagined that old quality glass like this
can be so versatile in a modern system?  If only they were 'A' lenses ...
