I have been trying out the old Osram VM 300 (split beam) flash (non TTL) I got with an ME. It is BRILLIANT with the *ist D. The built-in automatics work great and the split-beam thing is brilliant. It can be used with or with our two beams. It even has a manual zoom function (28-40-85mm). It's so nice I'll try to find a mint/excellent one...this one is in "bargain condition".
