Hyper Program is brilliant and I'm slightly amazed no other manufacturer has copied it. Simply put, hyper Program is "you adjust whichever exposure control you want and the camera will automatically take care of the other one" auto exposure. You can set the aperture and the camera will set its own shutter speed. If you change your mind and want shutter-preferred automation you just have to turn the shutter speed wheel and the camera instantly gives you shutter speed control, taking over the aperture setting itself. So you can instantly switch back and forth between shutter-preferred and aperture-preferred automation just by changing whichever setting you want to be able to control yourself. I very rarely use shutter-preferred auto exposure - the only time I can think of is when doing panning shots of motorsports, but it's really nice to be able to switch back and forth between aperture-preferred and shutter-preferred without even taking the camera away from my eye.
