I never sought a black camera because I thought it looked
"professional" or was "rare" or "more unobtrusive", or anything
like that. I just like the way a fine black laquer paint job
looks and feels, and I like they way they look when they get a
bit older and have wear marks from handling.

My Nikon FMs were like that ... I bought both of them used, and
used them for 19 years. Where the black was gone was where my
fingers had carried it away. The dings and dents, scratches and
marks gave them an individual personality that was appealing.
