Having nothing to do and suffering from cabin fever, I did a quick and dirty test of the SMC Pentax 28/3.5 on the *istD. I chose a subject with lots of detail, some shadow, and some killer highlights. It ain't art, but it's a decent test subject. The shot was at f11, 1/180, ISO 400. Here's the whole image: http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=3155206&size=lg
Here's a 100% crop of a high contrast area that would reveal any bloom: http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=3155211&size=lg Here's a 100% crop from near the edge of frame with lots of detail: http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=3155214&size=lg I also did some brick wall shots at f4. They look good. Slightly softer in the corners than at the center, but the difference is minimal. I had to look at 100% and put on my glasses to be sure. Paul
