The FA31/1.8 Limited makes an excellent normal lens for the D/DS, although it is very expensive. The FA35/2 should also make an excellent, fast normal. The FA24/2 is a bit too big and heavy for my taste. I tend to prefer the smaller, lighter manual focus A series lenses quite a bit of the time. I now have the A24/2.8, A28/2.8, and A35/2.8: they all work extremely well. The 24mm seems the most contrasty wide open and is often the easiest to focus because of that.
