As I said in another thread, I suspect that if Leica tanks hard, Panasonic will buy up the lens engineering and design assets. Perhaps the brand too.
Panasonic has done a very good job with their digital cameras using the Leica-designed lenses, and they understand the value of the Leica name on lenses.
