I think that is as much of a _hood_ as you can fit on this lens. It happens to be ridged on the inside but it is not for attaching filters. Filters (as you say) fit on the back of the lens. The only way I think you can fit filters on this lens in front is to stick Cokin types with Blu-tak or something like that.
