The camera did not get jostled or anything - this just started happening (at the bottom of a mineshaft in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, if I remember correctly...) The flash was fine on other cameras.
It lead to one of several trips to Colorado for the camera. After getting the this and the other bugs fixed, it works fine now (and has for at least a couple of years.)
Good luck -

Subject: LX Malfunction
So, I'm shooting the Ice Race yesterday, standing on the ice (because that's where ice races take place), and I slip. Didn't fall, but the LX swung around and struck a bike leaning against the boards of the hockey rink.
Look through the viewfinder, all the leds are working, all looks good (but you can tell from the SL that in fact all is ~not~ good <g>). Take a few shots, everything still seems okay.
Darkness gathers. I decide to put the flash on. Flash charges. Light on flash indicates full charge. LED in viewfinder indicates that flash in on camera, and charged and ready to go. Take photo. Suspect flash didn't go off. Repeat. Harbour same suspicion. Repeat 4 or 5 more times. Definitely, no flash.
Put flash on MX. Flash works just fine (although, obviously, we're not in ttl mode). Put flash back on LX (which by this time has no film in it, as the first roll was history). Take flash off ttl mode, and still the LX won't trip flash.
Finish evening using flash on MX, so I'm stuck on f 5.6 aperture, limiting "creativity" (such as it is <vbg>) somewhat.
So long story short, my LX, although it senses the flash is there, won't trip it. I know this is going to mean another trip to Kominek's repair shop, and a period of time without LX (which is okay, because since I got the fisheye and k 1.2 50mm, my poor Leica has been neglected), but I'm wondering if anyone has had this problem, or if anyone has any idea(s) as to the cause.
As an addendum, I was so upset about this setback that I fear I didn't get too many good ones. That's why I'd never make a good pro, I guess - too emotional... <vbg>
