Mine neeeded at least about 2 f-stops of underexposure to fire the flash, even if the X-LED illuminated - which it did like you say.

Hi Raimo -

Since being repaired my LX now goes right to 1/75th of a second when the 280T is put on - and fires are that speed with the flash firing as well. Of course - camera in auto mode. The shutter speed can still be selected manually.

The LED for the ambient light exposure still lights in addition to the X Synch (1/75th) LED being lit. Not firing the flash at all was clearly a malfunction - but if the behavior once the dedicated flash is put on is different, maybe that is an upgrade or change made during the repair.

Cheers -

Quoting Mark Cassino <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:

I had what sounds to be the same problem with my LX a few years ago.
Put the
flash on the hotshoe, in either TTL or manual mode, and the camera
(in auto
mode) would light up the red LED by 1/75 indicating that a dedicated
flash
was present. But then - it would not trip the flash and it would not
fire at
1/75th (it would fire at whatever shutter speed metered for the
scene.) I
was using an AF280T flash.

The camera did not get jostled or anything - this just started
happening (at
the bottom of a mineshaft in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, if I
remember
correctly...) The flash was fine on other cameras.

It lead to one of several trips to Colorado for the camera. After
getting
the this and the other bugs fixed, it works fine now (and has for at
least a
couple of years.)

Good luck -
