I've not commented on this before, but I've always had my doubts. So the
other day, when I had occasion to mount my A50mm/f1.4 on the *ist-D, I took
a few extra minutes to take a critical look at how the lens behaves.

I must say I find it hard to fault the feel of the lens when focussing.
There's enough resistance to feel the lens will stay focussed where it is
set, but not so much that it's in any way difficult to adjust. There's
no slop at all in the focussing ring - just a silky smooth movement.

Maybe the complaints are about the way the aperture ring moves; I don't
use lens-mounted controls on the *ist-D (or on the PZ-1p), so I can't
address this point. And even on the MZ-S I'm far more likely to use
shutter priority, and leave any lens set to the "A" position.

Or maybe I was just lucky, and I've got a very good example of this lens.
I've certainly never regretted picking it up to supplement the f1.7 I had.
