Because pros need to spend money. They claim expense against income tax. A teeny tiny Pentax DSLR is a cute thing to have tucked away with a little lens stuck on it for those times when the big kit stays in the car while the photog marches off to find lunch, etc. OTOH it could all be complete bollocks.
