Good points, Keith.  That's something that I should do
more often:  shoot the some of the crowd at events. 
Invariably, I like what I get, but for some reason, I
don't do it often enough.

That being said, I think getting a bit more separation
between dancer(s) and crowd might be desirable, either
by different points of view or by widening the
aperture a bit (but focusing on crowd rather than
dancer).

And, of course, I'm talking about doing the crowd
stuff ~and~ the dancer stuff, not an either/or
situation.

Reminding us to not forget about crowd shots is a good
thing.
