My first reply seemed to go into cyber space,so here is # 2.;-)

Hi Bob.
I use the Espon 2450,as does Bruce and Bill.I find it works well with 6x6
and or 6x7 negs,& slides(unmounted)but not to great with unmounted 35mm
slides.35mm negs are sometimes ok for a small print.
One ??? for Sid,Bill Bruce etc.Are you scanning sleeved or mounted slides.?
I;m just wondering if using the mounted adaptor may make a difference.

Dave
BTW the 200 f4 smc tak i bought for the 6x7 seems to work just fine.

Subject: Re: Scanning 6x7's

I scan my 6x7s with an Epson 3170, fairly good specs (its a flatbed with an
adapter) and I got it for the very reasonable price of $199
I think it was so cheap because it was a soon-to-be-discontinued model, but,
I'm quite pleased with the results I get.

I went extremely cheap, simply because I intend to buy something dedicated
like the Minolta film scanner (can't remember the name at the moment) that
does med. Format eventually... Or the Nikon CS 8000... But I'll wait until
the used prices come down some more.
